PITTSBURGH – August 22, 2016 – The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has named ground improvement specialist Menard Group USA one of the area’s Top Workplaces in its annual countdown of the region’s best employers. A Special Award for Leadership was also presented to President Frederic Masse.
In the Small Companies category (50-149 employees), Menard was ranked as the third best workplace in Pittsburgh based on their employees’ responses. Responses were so favorable, in fact, that they helped President Frederic Masse earn his own individual Special Award for Leadership.
Close to 20,000 employees at 137 workplaces in the region completed surveys a few months ago in order for their businesses to be considered for the list. The seven factors assessed in the survey were alignment, effectiveness, connection, management, leadership, basics and engagement. Interestingly enough, when respondents rated the factors by importance, connection and alignment rated higher than pay and benefits.
Competitive salaries with bonuses and a generous benefit package may initially attract potential employees to Menard Group USA, but the highly proactive safety culture, focus on work/life balance, and encouragement to attend professional training events help them retain the best in their field. Even the office space at Menard Group USA is an asset, recently winning an award by the Pittsburgh Business Times for being one of “Pittsburgh’s Coolest Offices”.
“It’s an honor for me to be part of Menard,” said Frederic Masse, President of Menard Group USA. “We have the best team in the business – their hard work makes us successful and all of their unique personalities contribute to a wonderful work culture. I couldn’t be more proud of them or of our company.”
