New Orleans – March 24, 2016 – US Wick Drain, part of Menard Group USA, is starting off the year with two of their largest contracts ever. Most recently, they were awarded their second largest wick drain contract to support a new terminal at the Louis Armstrong International Airport. Their largest contract, and the largest single wick drain contract by total footage in the country, was awarded earlier in the year for work at the Port of Charleston.
The most recent contract’s wick drain work will support the North Terminal Project at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The $650 million project, which broke ground in 2016, will increase the airport’s service for passengers to national and international destinations. It’s also expected to have a positive impact on the regional economy.
US Wick’s work will support additional taxiways and roadways for the new terminal. The company will install 20,000,000 feet of wick drains at depths of 90 feet.
The company has been consistently working in the New Orleans area since 2009. Most notably, US Wick installed nine million linear feet of wick drains to help repair LPV 109, a 7.54-mile reach of levee in eastern New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Until the award of the North Terminal Project, the work at LPV 109 held the record for largest wick drain project by number of wick drains.

The North Terminal is expected to be operational by October of 2018.
